In the early hours of Friday 29th May, Jill Valerie Tatler passed away, peacefully in her sleep. Jill was an extraordinary mum, wife, daughter, friend, and colleague, and we are privileged to have had her light up our lives for as long as she did.
Her final week was spent at The Cottage Hospice in Five Ashes, East Sussex. She was looked after by a team of truly wonderful medical staff. Every member of the team treated our lovely mum with such care and dignity, ensuring she was comfortable at all times and extending the same care to us too. Those precious days would not have been the same without them, and we are immeasurably grateful to all of the staff for allowing us the time and space to say our goodbyes to the most important lady in our lives.
As a token of our gratitude, we have set up this donation page to raise money for Hospice in the Weald, the charity which funds The Cottage Hospice and offers compassionate, personalised and holistic palliative care to patients and their loved ones. Hospice in the Weald are doing remarkable work offering great comfort to so many in very difficult times. The organisation relies on donations to keep all the services running.
Kindly note we are asking for donations to be made in Jill’s memory in place of flowers, thank you.
Hospice in the Weald provides compassionate, individualised, holistic and supportive care for all patients with terminal illnesses, their carers and families in West Kent and East Sussex.
As a local charity not part of the NHS we need to raise £7m each year to ensure our services can continue.
